True Blood Season 2 Spoilers

Bill and Sookie’s relationship was the main focus on True Blood in Season 1 but this time around the writers are going to develop several side stories.  Lots of other characters will be developed this time around.  Here’s what I can tell you so far…

Jason will get deeper into the Fellowship of the Sun as he searches for answers to the purpose of his life.  Also, the mysterious Marysann and her true identity will come to light and will make us wonder what else is out there.  Another interesting factor in this season will be if Lafayette comes back.  Alan Ball gives us a little teaser by not confirming whether Lafayette will come back or not, but that ‘he died in the books’… What’s that supposed to mean?  For this one, we’ll have to wait and see.

  1. Dahlia says:

I believe “He died in the books” means that he died in the books — i.e., Charlaine Harris never brought him back, although I’m currently only on the fourth book and don’t know what happens in the later ones.

I know that plot points are changed all the time in movie and t.v. adaptations, but it seems to me that bringing Lafayette back would be stepping too far out of canon. JMHO.

  2. Samantha says:

But they’ve already stepped so far “out of canon” to make the show much richer than the books (no offense to Harris fans, but the books leave me cold). Lafayette is a minor character and his death a minor story in the books. On the show he’s much bigger and more important, and at the center of several stories that haven’t yet been paid off. It would be foolish to kill him off so soon. I for one hope it’s Lettie May in that car.

  3. Kelly says:

I don’t really care who’s in the car. I just want to see more of Eric. Yum.

  4. Moondancer Drake says:

I hope they break the heck out of canon reguarding Lafayette. Harris darn near lost me as a reader when she offed him in the book. I agree with Samamatha, I hope it’s someone else like Miss Jeanette or Lettie May.

  5. Jonathan says:

I am praying that Lafayette somehow makes it. He is an awesome character and several adaptations keep a character when they died off in another. For instance in Queer as Folk, Ted survives rather than dieing in the beginning and it really paid off for the show.

::Come on Lafayette! I know you can make it…::

  6. Stephanie says:

Well, they can’t really get the plot much farther from the books as they did in season 1. Personally I wish they’d stick to the actual plot, but that rarely happens in tv and movie adaptations. I like the series as a stand alone show, I just have to pretend it’s not suppose to be the same series as the books and I’m fine.

But, I agree with Kelly, it doesn’t matter whether Lafayette is in the car or not, just bring me more Eric!

  7. CASSIE says:

First off i love and need more Lafayette. i knew they had to bring him back. second this is the hottest show ever. Is it wrong of me to want to be licked by Sam and bit by Bill all at the same time? The This Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. sophieg113 says:

im surprised that most watchers havent read the books, and if lafeyette dying in the books almost turned you of of them then you probably arent that far it into the season, because alot more shit happens and you forget he was even part of the story. for the people who love eric just like i do, read the boks hes in them a ton
