I wish that True Blood and The Vampire Diaries were on at the same time of year, because I bet Vampire Diaries would get its head handed to him with two large holes in the neck. Yes, True Blood is THAT GOOD. It’s edgier than Twilight and Vampire Diaries put together. 
Why does HBO only come out with a dozen episodes per season vs. Vampire Diaries 24 episodes? Is it because the show is double as good? I’d like to think so. Personally, I feel that HBO is just a little bit lazy. They make so much money, they aren’t hungry. 12 episodes are enough.

All the idea of vampires beeing a known thing in th world i very cool and original, but all the history could be used in a better way… Why does the maker of the blonde on dies?? he would be the only one tht would make me see the serie right now! coz i think the serie it lost all its interest in this last season!!
Putting the both series together Vampires Diaries is by far better the True Blood!
Nany, that would be because you have no tast for a good Vampire show, While True Blood has its flaws, The Vampire Diaries holds nothing to True Blood. I think The vampire Diaries is way to emo, It don’t have the brutality a Vampire show should have, They all seem like they want to cry half the time. I also think some of the storylines are retarded. I can say True Blood has its brutality, (to spite the whole Godric part) and some very good storylines. I don’t think The Vampire Diaries is even a good show, I saw 3 episodes, and had enough, could watch no more
If you’re looking an emo crybaby show stop looking in the direction of Vampires, and furthermore people need to stop raping the idea of the Vampires, When they do you have people like Nany crying about it.

I like this type of vampire shows, like vampires diaries, its true. But you can’t say that True blood hasn’t gone too far with the hole orgy thing! I like true blood, but all the sex thing is too much!
The vampires are spouse to be, horrifying creatures of the night, that kill, and their only interest is blood! This new thing (not that new) that vampires and good looking and attractive, is very interesting, but I still love a good mortifying vampire. I love the vampire interview, the damned queen, van helsing as some cool vampires as well!
But in this era came different vampires: the ones that resist human blood, and have human girlfriends! – this “in vampire history” is impossible! So if it is to see a human-vampire love story, I rather see Twilight and vampire diaries to seeing True blood…
If you think vampires diaries is a lame show I cant do anything about it and I wouldn’t couse is your choice and have no saying on your tastes in shows the same way you have no in my… and please, don’t offend me with the hole “emo” thing couse (no offence to emos) but I have no patience for those people, I have one thing to tell them – please, get out of your houses, make some friends, go to the beach and get some sun!
I have watched many different vampire based shows/movies. From Inteview with The Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Buffy the Vampire (show and movie), Angel, Twilight, New Moon, Vampire Diaries as well as True Blood. Everyone of them does different things. Buffy and Angel are drastically different from the Twlight Saga as well as True Blood. True Blood is very brutal and sexual. Twilight Saga is very soft and gentle with some violence sprinkled on. Vampire Diaries is basically Buffy plus Twlight together. I like all of them. I find entertainment in each. I have realized though that Twlight is like the young version of True Blood…it is like the elementary level. Vampire Diaries is next…being middle school and high school…leaving True Blood being the college. I know, a very simple explanation of who they tend to target but it is actually very true.
Did True Blood go to far with the orgy scenes in last season? I do not think so due to the fact that it fit in with the creature; cannot remember what it was, that was responsible for it. Now if let’s say the creature response had been like a nonsexually based creature and made the people have orgies, then yes they would have gone too far.
I have been a fan of True Blood since I heard about it. Even started reading the books. I do think that comparing it to Vampire Diaries and Twlight Saga is not exactly fair due to the fact that the only thing they share is vampires. That’d be like comparing CSI and Law and Order with NYPD. All they have in common is cops, not really a fair comparation. However, with that being said, True Blood is my favorite, followed by Vampire Diaries and taking up the rear is the Twilight Saga.
I think there is a very simple explanation for all of the conflicting opinions that has been overlooked.
True Blood is intended for a more mature audience. Twilight is a Young Adults book, targeted toward young teenagers/middle school ages. Vampire Diaries is also targeted towards a younger, teenage audience. Therefore, their plots have “fluffier” content. Less intensity and darkness, and resulting in “emo” vampires. It would not be age appropriate to have explicit sex and darker themes. True Blood is aimed toward an older audience that can appreciate the darker side to vampire myth and are mature enough to understand that sex (and secual rituals, in the case of the maenad) are simply a part of life and culture.
